I am wondering if you had to do anything particularly difficult (soldering, etc) with the electronics or did you just have to dismantle and reposition a lot of the components...
I believe, based on the controls for the lcd, that i have the same unit and it would get more use in a mini cab project like yours.
A little soldering, speaker wires need extending, and also there is one wire that connects to the circuit board that needs cut and then re soldered to get the monitor out.
Hardest part is dissassembly, all the wire buses are glued to the board, so you have to strip all the glue off.
